One of the biggest mistakes baseball players and coaches do in their training is only using exercises that train the body in the Sagittal Plane of motion. When you play baseball you are moving the body through all 3 planes of motion: Sagittal, Frontal and Transverse. That’s why I’m a big fan of exercises that force the body to move in more than one plane of motion when training for baseball.
